As a longtime regular at Nishi, I already had high expectations going into my first teppanyaki booking. I’m glad to say it did not disappoint one bit. The chef’s friendliness and skill shone through but not just in style but in pure culinary artistry. His performance was both entertaining and impressive, flipping bottles, doing trick shots, and showcasing to us refined techniques while cooking at the same time. Every dish was great. The scallops, salmon, and lobster were all nicely prepared, but the real standout for me was the fried rice. It exceeded expectations. The wok hei was unmistakable, and each grain was perfectly seasoned to deliver a savoury and fragrant burst of flavour with every bite. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience that balanced entertainment, skill, and taste perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an enjoyable and high-quality teppanyaki night.

Did not disappoint! Made a last minute decision to go to Nishi for dinner and so glad we did. We had the deluxe sashimi, assorted sushi, spider role and the salad/rice/miso addition. They catered and ensured all our dishes were gf and were spectacular. By far the best Japanese we have had in Perth. Didn’t get a chance to try any of the mains, noodles or teppanyaki but will be back to try these in the future

One of my fave local Japanese restaurants - great fresh & well priced dishes. Menu is extensive & they also have teppanyaki set menus - seats must be booked as they don’t have many seats, especially on weekends. Our go to order is usually the Sakura Sets - where you can order from a fee choices for an entree, a main meal & a non alcoholic drink. The set also includes a bowl of miso soup, side salad & rice. Great price at $39pp. If I must say any negative about the place is that the seating arrangement within the restaurant is quite tight. Spaces between tables are so small that privacy feels lacking. As they are mostly busy, they also seem to be quite understaffed. We feel ignored & feel like we must always strive to get their attention. Overall, good place where we could enjoy great food, just don’t expect high or top quality of service - more like no frills & with no privacy. We keep coming back though as we do love their food! 😁

Super fun little spot. Had the teppenyaki experience for a friends birthday. Chef threw food into our mouths and entertained us with his pyrotechnic skills.
